Andersen EV is a leading provider of home charging points for electric vehicles (EVs) that became part of Beringea’s UK portfolio in February 2024. Founded in 2022 and based in Bedfordshire, the company has experienced rapid growth, expanding from a team of just three to approximately 45 employees in less than two years. Between 2023 and 2024, Andersen EV achieved a 175 per cent increase in turnover, cementing its position as a key supplier to several leading premium automotive brands.

David Martell, founder and CEO of Andersen EV, is a seasoned entrepreneur with an impressive track record in the motor industry. He launched his first business, Traffic Master, in the 90s and later took it public on the London Stock Exchange. In the 2000s, he founded Chargemaster, a public network of EV charging points. This business was backed by Beringea’s UK funds through to its acquisition by BP in 2018 for £130 million. Seeing further opportunity for growth in the EV market, David established Andersen EV in 2022 to bring charging infrastructure into the home.

Beringea’s UK funds invested in Andersen EV in 2024, renewing the partnership between investor and entrepreneur that had delivered such success at Chargemaster. The EV market is projected to grow fivefold in the UK in the next five years, presenting a clear opportunity for Andersen EV, whose premium charging points offer consumers a product with the quality, design, and reliability to integrate seamlessly into the home.
